Group travel
How it works

Nobody has to decide anything to start

A group trip on Travafa begins as an empty trip with a name and a few people on it. No destination, no dates, no budget. Everything after that is proposed by somebody and settled by a vote, and the discount grows as the group does.

Free for up to 20 travellers.

Anything the group agrees on — a stay, an activity, a booked flight — lands on the map on its own day. Nothing is placed by hand.

The route is the day's order

The dashed line follows the sequence you'll actually travel, so a day that zig-zags across a city is obvious before you're standing in it.

One day at a time, or all of them

Switch to a single day to see just its stops, or keep every day on at once to see how the trip moves.

Who plans trips this way

Friends

Six people, four cities in mind, nobody willing to pick first.

Family

Three generations, one set of dates that has to work for school and leave.

Office teams

An offsite where the budget is fixed and finance needs the receipts.

College groups

Tight budget, loose plans, everything decided in a group chat.

A route rather than a destination, changing as you go.

Common questions

Is group planning free?

Yes. Creating a trip, inviting people, voting on dates and places, the checklist, the budget and expense splitting are all free with no limit. Every new account also gets 1 free AI credit for AI-drafted itineraries and AI checklist suggestions; a Pro plan adds more generations if you want them.

How many people can join a trip?

Up to 20 travellers on a trip. Everyone gets the same view — there's one organiser for admin actions like finalising a date, but proposing and voting is open to all members.

Does everyone need the app?

No. An invite works in a browser at travafa.com, and the whole plan — voting, chat, expenses — works there. The app adds push notifications and live location during the trip, so at least one person having it helps.

What if plans change after we've decided?

Reopen the vote. A finalised date or destination can be unlocked by the organiser, and the trip goes back to proposing without losing the itinerary, expenses or chat. Bookings already made keep their own cancellation terms, which stay visible on each booking.

Can we start without knowing where we're going?

That's what this page is for. A trip can exist with no destination and no dates — it's a name and a group. Voting is how it becomes specific, and nothing else in the product is blocked while it stays open.

Start it with nothing decidedName the trip, add your people, and let the votes do the rest.
