Hoogezand is a town in the province of Groningen, in the northeastern part of the Netherlands. It is part of the municipality of Midden-Groningen, which was formed on January 1, 2018, from the merger of Hoogezand-Sappemeer, Slochteren, and Menterwolde.

History
