   • Haledon was incorporated as a borough on April 8, 1908, from portions of the now-defunct Manchester Township, following a referendum held on May 28, 1908. The borough is bordered by Paterson, North Haledon, Prospect Park, and Wayne.

   • Haledon played a pivotal role in the early 20th-century labor movement, particularly during the Paterson Silk Strike of 1913. This strike was a significant event in labor history, as silk workers in nearby Paterson, New Jersey, protested for better working conditions and fair wages.
   • The Botto House, located at 83 Norwood Street, became an important site during the strike. Owned by Italian immigrant immigrants, Pietro and Maria Botto, the house served as a meeting place for strikers and labor leaders. It was from the balcony of the Botto House that prominent figures such as Big Bill Haywood, Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, and Upton Sinclair addressed thousands of workers.
   • Today, the Botto House is preserved as the American Labor Museum, which educates the public about labor history and the struggle for workers' rights.
